Wanted man arrested after two guns and ammo found by cops

A wanted man has been arrested after police found two guns and ammunition at a house in Oldham.

Officers discovered the weapons during a search at a house on Alder Road, in Failsworth, at around 1.20pm on Monday (July 26).

They found a sawn-off shotgun along with 15 cartridges of ammunition.

They also found a converted pistol loaded with five rounds of ammunition.

During the search carried out by Oldham South’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, police arrested a 41-year-old woman.

She has since been bailed and enquiries are ongoing.

A second suspect was then arrested yesterday (Wednesday) at an Oldham hotel.
