Aimed at visiting parents, returning alumni, and other visitors, the chain only operates in university towns and aims to have authentically themed decoration, art and objects of interest in the guestrooms and communal spaces.
The Graduate Cambridge, a renovation of the old Cambridge Hotel, is on the banks of the River Cam and just a short walk from the city’s attractions such as the Fitzwilliam Museum.
To get into the Cambridge cycling vibe, the hotel offers complementary bike hire and it welcomes dog visitors.
Prices at the hotel on Mill Lane start at around £147 per night and it has 148 rooms.
Also boasting a city centre and riverside location is The Fellows House, part of the Hilton portfolio.
It offers apartment-style accommodation starting at about £160 per night.
The hotel says that it draws its thematic and visual influence from Cambridge’s many colleges and some of the world-renowned people educated there.
The Fellows House, which is on Milton Road near the River Cam and Jesus Green, also features artwork and sculptures designed in Cambridge.
The different types of room are named after famous Cambridge alumni including Kipling, Newton, Attenborough, and Gormley.
