Don Alder inducted into BC Leisure Hall of Fame – Williams Lake Tribune
Former Williams Lake resident and award-winning guitarist Don Alder has been inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame 2020-21 StarMeritus group.
StarMeritus Stars are reserved for pioneers of the leisure sector receiving distinctive merit for their remarkable contribution to the doing arts in British Columbia, noted BC Amusement Corridor of Fame in saying this year’s winners.
Signing up for Alder in the StarMeritus recognition are actor, singer and arts advocate Candus Churchill, pioneer of the B.C. new music field and Juno Award winner Lynne Partridge and manager, producer and leisure publicist Valerie (“Valley”) Hennell.
Immediately after Alder’s father died, he moved to Williams Lake at the age of 10 to dwell with his late grandmother, Jean Anne Montgomery.
He became superior friends with Rick Hansen, and was with him when Hansen endured a spinal wire damage in a automobile crash.
In 1985, Alder joined Hansen on the Guy in Motion Globe Tour and claimed when he performs he tells tales from the tour, which he thinks is 1 of the motives he was presented the StarMeritus.
